E-commerce Developer

Pawalla is looking for a strong engineer with a passion for delighting customers by building creative and elegant products. As one of the first technical team members at a very early stage startup, you will play a key role in shaping our web-based technology platform and helping to build a world-class product organization.
Responsibilities:
- - Serve as lead technical architect and developer for Pawalla.com
- - Drive product development across the entire development cycle, working closely with remote development resources
- - Code primarily in HTML, Javascript and CSS
- - Assist in building out a world-class product development team
Requirements:
- - E-commerce or exceptional and relevant experience coding HTML/CSS in a consumer facing web environment
- - Knowledge of standards and best practice design patterns for JS/CSS/HTML design and implementation, including cross browser compatible development techniques
- - 2+ years of experience with the Magento platform
- - Knowledge of JavaScript, popular frameworks and AJAX best practices
- - Comfortable with different technologies and platforms including dynamically typed scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl, and/or Python; and statically typed programming languages like
- C, C++, and/or Java
- - BA/BS in Computer Science, Interaction Design, or a related field

Social Media Intern

Would you like to play a key role in growing our unique service and brand, helping to bring joy to thousands of pets and their pet parents?
Description:
As a social media intern, you will support Pawalla’s efforts to reach and engage with pet parents via social media. You will collaborate with the team on shaping our strategy for growing awareness of our brand and building our customer base via social media and play a key role in executing that strategy.
Typical activities will include:
- - Posting status updates to Twitter & Facebook
- - Finding informative and/or entertaining content to share with our audience
- - Writing and posting short blog posts
- - Engaging with pet parents and potential customers via Twitter, Facebook, and other forums
- - Reaching out to popular bloggers to ask them to review our service
Requirements:
- - Enthusiastic about pets!
- - Dynamic personality
- - Familiar with popular social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- - Completed or pursuing undergraduate degree
- - Able to commit at least 16 hours a week
